Modern Engineering Solution

Repair and Renovation

Our experts understand that to re-establish the structural integrity and extend the service life of the structures, we must look beyond superficial damages to identify the underlying causes of the deterioration. By connecting with you from project start up, we can develop tailor-made, safe and sustainable system strategies that will be compatible with local job-site conditions, and will help building owners by ensuring a quick return to service and prolonged service life.

Modern Engineering Solutions’ repair services are formulated for long term protection of refurbished buildings & Repair of old structures.

1. Anchor Grouting/ Rebaring

Rebaring is the method of insertion of the Steel bars when, there is change in design or there is some extension of the present structure, It designed for post-installed rebar connection applications, It offers a very high load-bearing capacity.

The system can be installed in percussive and diamond drilled dry, wet and flooded holes.

Features of Anchor Grouting/ Rebaring

  • Fixings close to free edges.
  • Fire Tested.
  • Versatile.
  • Anchoring without expansion pressure.
  • Ultra High load capacities.
  • Suitable for diamond-drilled holes.
  • Suitable for dry, wet and flooded holes.

2. Strengthening of old structures

Structural strengthening is the process of upgrading structures to improve performance under existing loads or to increase the strength of structural members to carry additional loads.

3. Patch Repairing in Pavements Concrete

Refurbishment of damaged concrete

The specified repair product for damaged concrete refurbishment shall comprise of the following system, the generic product specified shall meet the key performance properties in section D.

Epoxy Bond Coat: To enhance bonding of Old to New Concrete, product to be used shall be a two component, epoxy resin based bonding agent.

Fast setting, hand applied repair mortar: For repairing damaged concrete/ potholes in heavy trafficked/ engineering areas where repaired areas need to become serviceable within 2 to 3 hours, the product shall be a fast setting, single component, non-shrink, pre-packed and hand applied thixotropic cementitious mortar capable of applying in thickness of upto 50mm.

4. Floor & Roof Levelling

We used premixed self leveling compound in a powder form comprising of specially selected binders, well graded sand and synthetic polymers plasticizing agents and other ingredients, requiring only addition of water at the job site.

After mixing all required material it produces highly efficient under layment with self leveling and self finishing properties and renders a smooth floor. High fluidity, good bond and low shrinkage ensure ease of application. By using this system the surface defects are instantly eliminated after application.

5. Concrete Screed

Screed is quite simply a thin, top layer of material laid over a concrete subfloor, that is traditionally made of sharp sand and cement, similarly to concrete. Industrial screed can be used for more heavy duty applications by using a more coarse 6-10mm aggregate.

6. Epoxy Flooring & PU Flooring

Epoxy flooring is a surface created by applying multiple layers of epoxy to a floor. The coating has a depth of at least two millimetres. It is important to mention here that epoxy flooring and epoxy floor coating are not the same thing. While epoxy floors are those where the coating is at least two millimetres thick, depth below this will fall under epoxy floor coatings. However, epoxy flooring is not a flooring itself, as it has to be coated on top of either steel, concrete or wooden floor base.

Also known as resinous flooring, epoxy flooring is created using a combination of polymer resins and hardeners. This union of two chemicals creates a stiff plastic-like material that is highly durable and extremely low maintenance.

7. Expansion Joints Treatment

An expansion joint, or movement joint, is an assembly designed to hold parts together while safely absorbing temperature-induced expansion and contraction of building materials, and vibration, or to allow movement due to ground settlement or seismic activity. They are commonly found between sections of buildings, bridges, sidewalks, railway tracks, piping systems, ships, and other structures.

Building faces, concrete slabs, and pipelines expand and contract due to warming and cooling from seasonal variation, or due to other heat sources. Before expansion joint gaps were built into these structures, they would crack under the stress induced.
